The "Nitty Gritty"

Insurance companies have networks within their networks. Even if we have a contract as an in-network provider with your insurance company, it doesn't always mean that we are covered or in-network with your plan. We highly recommend confirming that your network covers Playful Minds Counseling. Yes, we agree that it's frustrating. We do our best to verify benefits once we have your insurance information; however, the information we access isn't always clear or accurate.

We highly recommend contacting your insurance company to understand your mental health benefits.

*Please be aware that we do not take insurance for Couples Counseling--click here to learn why*

We are contracted with the following insurance companies as in-network providers:

This is Jody!

Jody will be helping out at Playful Minds Counseling on Tuesday and Thursday mornings, ensuring claims are processed, insurance is verified, and invoices are accurate!  So, she's helping with probably the LEAST fun part of working in healthcare! If you get an email from Jody, please be kind and remember that we don't make the insurance rules, but to be accessible, we must follow them!

ABOUT JODY (she's kind of a big deal)

Twenty-one years ago, I landed in Seattle and fell in love with its rowdy, postmodern dance culture. I fell in love with my own queerness. In doing so, I created Cherdonna Shinatra as a persona and character to question and explore the world from a uniquely queer perspective. Over the last 15 years, I have created and performed a wide array of evening-length works and performance installations described as “uncategorizable spectacles” (The Stranger) for theaters, museums, clubs, parking lots, and abandoned buildings.

Playful Minds has an exciting vision and mission, and I'm happy to be part of the team because it means that I get to contribute to supporting a group of therapists who do the important work that they do.

You have the right to receive a

“Good Faith Estimate”

explaining how much your health care will cost.

  • Under the law, healthcare providers need to give patients who don’t have certain types of healthcare coverage or are not using certain types of healthcare coverage an estimate of their bill for healthcare items and services before those items or services are provided.

  • You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any health care items or services upon request or when scheduling such items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

  • If you schedule a health care item or service at least 3 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 1 business day after scheduling. If you schedule a health care item or service at least 10 business days in advance, make sure your health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after scheduling. You can also ask any health care provider or facility for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service. If you do, make sure the health care provider or facility gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing within 3 business days after you ask.

  • If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more for any provider or facility than your Good Faith Estimate from that provider or facility, you can dispute the bill.
